Disabilities Rights California

For three decades Disability Rights California's work has been driven by widely-shared beliefs that people with disabilities should have equality, independence, dignity and power. Over these three decades we currently have engaged in cutting edge advocacy, litigation and sponsored legislation to prevent discrimination, secure access to services that promote independence, ensure dignity and prevent abuse. Our successes, chronicled in the Disability Rights History Timeline 1978-2008, include prohibiting the involuntary sterilization of women with developmental disabilities.
