As partner of Bravo Productions, Jenkins is involved in all aspects of the companys event productions -- from designing the concept and staging the function to overseeing publicity, marketing and the administrative operation. In addition, he supervises the companys charitable contributions campaign. In 1994, Jenkins was responsible for re-engineering the company whose sole mission was the design and production of Tournament of Roses Parade floats into a successful corporate event planning and production firm that specializes in staging corporate functions nationwide to support clients strategic marketing campaigns..
Jenkins and his firm has received prestigious Gala Awards by Special Events Magazine for Best Event Produced for a Corporation - Budget $100,000 to $249,000 and Best Event Design Budget $20,000. Jenkins and his firm also has received four Esprit Awards and several WESTIE Awards by the International Special Events Society; a Silver Tier Award for Innovation by Corporate EVENT Magazine, as well as PRISM Awards by the Public Relations Society of America, Los Angeles Chapter. Jenkins is also a previous nominee as Samaritan of the Year and a two-time nominee as Event Planner of the Year by Event Solutions Magazine, an international magazine serving the event and meeting industry.
Prior to forming Bravo Productions in 1987, with his business partner, Thomas Neighbors, Jenkins served as public relations director for Festival Artists, where he supervised Tournament of Roses Parade publicity, special events, community relations and promotions for the company and its clients.
Previously, Jenkins served as account executive/client services coordinator with a a Los Angeles-based public relations firm. Prior to moving west, Jenkins served four years as marketing research manager for the Metropolitan Detroit Convention & Visitor Bureau.
Jenkins holds a masters degree in organizational communications and a bachelors degree in advertising, both from Michigan State University.
A Long Beach resident, Jenkins is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America and serves on the board of directors for the Los Angeles chapter. He also holds memberships in Meeting Professionals International and the International Special Events Society (ISES), which he was a former board member of the ISES, Los Angeles Chapter. Jenkins is also a lecturer on event industry topics and has written numerous articles that have been published in special events, meeting planning, public relations and marketing trade journals. Jenkins previously served for several years on the editorial advisory board of Event Solutions Magazine.
